To learn about the brand one must first understand the person behind it. Sandy Rubin grew up in a busy household with two older sisters and a younger brother. Her father, a Microbiologist with more degrees than you can shake a stick at, and her mother a Persian Princess (not literally but might as well have been).
With little to no luck in athletics, she found her interests elsewhere; a growing fascination for rocks, getting her hands dirty, and creating objects, fueled her creative fires. Sandy never fit perfectly into one mold. Instead, she molded herself, fitting into both ends of the spectrum and everything in-between. It didn’t take long for Sandy to realize that if she felt this way, inevitably, other people did too.
No one is one thing all the time, and why should your jewels fit a mold that you don’t?
Sandy Rubin Designs focuses on filling every stop and flirting with the balance of imbalance. SRD finds the beauty in contrast and conformity, man-made and organic, the anecdotal and exotic, all of which can be found throughout her collections.
